Drawing from travel and observations in the region of Yunnan, the furniture Masa Studio has designed for Zhuoyu is rooted in elemental form with subtle modern abstractions from the traditional. A hollow arc of a classic Chinese roof, evoking an arc moon curve translates as poetic lines of understated elegance and grounded archaic.

Marwan Al Sayed + Mies Anderson Use A Shared Interest in Art and a Discerning Awareness of Nature’s Rhythms to Create Inspired Spaces
Founded in 1997 by Principals Marwan Al Sayed and Mies Anderson, MASA STUDIO is a Los Angeles-based boutique architecture and interior design studio dedicated to the creation of detail-oriented, forward-thinking, yet timeless spaces. The duo’s collective work presents subtle juxtapositions; it is sensuous yet pure and offers a simplicity that is filled with endless complexity. Their work encompasses full-service building design, interior design, and furniture design for a host of luxury resorts/spas, distinctive residential spaces, and select institutional and cultural heritage and academic institution projects. Mies and Marwan’s union was born from a shared interest in art, and this still influences their process today. Their understanding is guided by a desire to reinterpret the ancient and archaic with an intimacy towards nature and the human body, creating architecture and interior design that is elevated to the level of art.
